How to build a Duck Butt!

- Fill the butt connectors with silicone to make sure no water can get in
- I set it up so that I would have a pair of butts on each run as you can
see however this is not neccessary. But it keeps from having to deal with so
much wire
- I used a lawnmower battery from wally world...cost about 20 bucks (15 if
you got a trade in) I can generally use the butts for 3 days of hunting 3-5
hrs each day before I need to recharge the battery
- I cut the keel off the decoys and screwed the bilge pump to the bottom of
the deke, I also used 3M 5200 (any waterproof adhesive/sealant will work) to
attach the pump and provide more bite for the screws.
- I attached an eye hook to the bottom seeing how I removed the attachment
means when I cut off the keel.
- I anchor them by clipping a line attached to a 1' piece of pvc to the
decoy. This allows me to spread them apart with out them getting tangled.
- You will have to attach some pipe to angle up from the bilge pump. It
really depends on the kind of bilge pump you use as to what would be easiest.
I used 3/4" pvc pipe. I heated it with a blow torch (lightly) and pushed it
over the outlet on the bilge and bent it up to my liking (slightly below the
surface).
- If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
